How Tengai complies with accessibility requirements

Tengai is designed to be accessible and usable for as many candidates as possible. Our starting point is that candidates should be able to complete the interview at their own pace, with support for different ways of receiving and expressing information.

Core features of the candidate experience

The interview is presented in both speech and text.
Candidates can pause and resume the interview at any time.
There are no time limits in the interview.
Keyboard navigation is supported throughout the candidate flow.
Screen reader support is implemented through semantic HTML and ARIA markup.
Colour and contrast levels in the candidate portal follow WCAG guidelines.

Individual adjustments (accommodations)

Different candidates may have different needs. We therefore work to make it possible to:

Request alternative ways of responding, for example text instead of speech where relevant.
Receive support through manual handling when the standard flow is not suitable.

A structured accommodations flow is being introduced in the candidate portal to make these options clear and accessible before the interview starts.

Standards and legislation

We base our work on:

WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
EN 301 549, the harmonised technical standard for the European Accessibility Act (EAA)
Sweden’s implementation under the Act (2023:254) (applies from 28 June 2025)

Accessibility work is ongoing and continuous. We continuously develop and test features to improve usability for candidates with different needs.
